Community Based Meal Services

Home-Delivered Meals

Formerly Meals on Wheels, for residents of Johnson County Kansas who are at least 60 years of age or older and meet a need valuation.

Don Bosco Senior Center

Hot meals for seniors are available for pick up daily. They also have a meals on wheels service.

Johnson County Neighborhood Centers

The Area Agency on Aging provides nutritious meals at seven Neighborhood Centers in Johnson County. In addition, Neighborhood Centers offer a variety of services, activities, and educational programs for older individuals in the community.

Missouri Community Centers

The MARC-sponsored community centers provide a comfortable place for older adults to share a meal, learn new skills, share their expertise and participate in activities. With locations throughout Cass, Clay, Jackson, Platte and Ray counties, the MARC centers serve as an important resource promoting good nutrition, healthy lifestyles, active socialization and community participation.

Shawnee Mission Meals on Wheels

The meals are prepared by Hy‐Vee. The meals are delivered by our friendly volunteer drivers to our clients, many of whom may not have had any other personal contact throughout the day. If no one is at home to accept the meal, it is acceptable to leave a cooler with ice at the front door. The cost for the meal is $5.25. We have a subsidy program for those who are unable to pay the full cost of the meal.
